Quietly, she left her room, and walked down the hall. She needed to get out. She felt like the walls were screaming at her in silence. The worst screaming ever. Delilah walked through the dimly lit hall, looking for the door that said 'Roof, Staff Only'. She found it, and opened it. She expected it to be locked, though it wasn't. What a surprise.
Delilah climbed the stairs until she reached the top, she opened up the door, and felt a cool breeze embrace her. This is why she came up here. So silent yet so loud. She walked out onto the roof, and looked around. There was no one up there it seemed, which was good for her. She liked to be alone at times. Delilah walked over to the edge, where the was a ledge to keep anyone from falling. She leaned on the ledge, looking down onto the surroundings of the hotel. She gave out a sigh of relief, and blinked slowly.
It was such a nice night. The wind blew through her hair, messing it up slightly, but she didn't mind it at all. She felt safe, like nothing could touch her. Delilah turned with her back against the ledge, and slid down it, so she was sitting down, hugging her knees. She rested her head on her knees, and closed her eyes.

Bella opened the heavy door that led up to the roof. She humans had been particularly trying lately, and she needed a chance to think for once in her life. The air was cool, just like she liked it, and she pressed her cheek against the cool stone of the railing for a second before resting her chin in her hands. She didn't notice Delilah standing on the other half of the roof as she closed her eyes lethargically and let out a soft sigh.
She began to quietly hum an old tune she remembered her mother singing to her vaguely, and that she'd sometimes sung to Sy, her old boyfriend. It helped clear her head when she'd had too much on her mind, which was definitely the case at the moment.

Delilah ignored the opening of the door, she thought it was just the wind. But once she heard humming, she threw her head up, nearly banging it against the wall. Her eyes shot open. She recognized the voice as Bella. It seemed that she hadn't noticed she was up there.
Delilah got up off of the wall, and walked near Bella, "Hey." She smiled, "Came to clear your head?" Thats usually what she did when she was upset, or felt down; came to the roof. "I didn't hear you come up, I would have went to your room to go get you. But I wasn't sure if you were in." She shrugged.

Bella was surprised when she heard the sound of someone walking over to her. She had thought she was the only one around, since all of the other vampires and students she'd passed on her way up seemed otherwise occupied. She opened her eyes and saw Delilah walking over and smiled and soft smile. She was happy for the company; Delilah was her best friend and one of the only people she didn't mind talking to when she had a lot on her mind. She shrugged at the question and responded in a soft voice. "Exactly."
She was amused by the way Delilah seemed to know her like the back of her hand. "I wasn't in," she responded, white fangs gleaming in the moonlight as she grinned. "I was wandering around the hotel."

"See, I know you so well." She let out a soft laugh. "I knew you'd be out." Delilah smiled, "Whats on your mind?" She asked. The two had always talked about anything, so she was hoping Bella would open up to her. It seemed like something was really bothering her. "You dont have to tell me if you dont want too." She added, to make sure if Bella wasn't ready to talk about whatever it was, that Delilah would be there to talk.
"Its nice out tonight, especially up here." This was true, it really was nice out. It felt nice to be out in the open. Exposed, yet covered up by the night.

She chuckled lightly, shaking her head with amusement. "Yes you do," she agreed. She let out a sigh when Delilah asked her what was on her mind; she didn't really feel like discussing it, but Delilah was Delilah, and they told each other everything. "I was just thinking about Sy," she said, her smile turning almost instantly into a frown. She'd told Delilah about Sy various times before, and it never ended well, no matter what.
She nodded her agreement as she watched the cars down below shoot by. "Yeah. For once it's not ninety degrees out," she joked, turning her attention away from the road below and over to the sky above.

She sighed at hearing Sy's name. "He's bothering you again?" She asked, and frowned along with her best friend. "Im sorry. And I don't know exactly what to say." She leaned on the railing, "Just don't let him bother you, shit happens sometimes, maybe its for the best." She nodded, trying to help. Delilah pushed herself off of the railing and offered Bella a hug. "Things will eventually clear up, and you wont be upset anymore."
"...And if they dont, you could always just kill someone to get rid of some stress." She joked, or was she joking?

She slumped miserably against the railing, turning away from her friend when the urge to cry hit her hard; she'd never cried in front of anyone and she wasn't about to start now. "I miss him," she said with a sigh. "I can't help it. It's been over a hundred years and I still miss him." Sure, it cleared up briefly at times, but then it came back tenfold and she felt even worse.
That comment got her laughing, though, especially since it was true in her case. "Can't argue with that logic."

"I know, it is really strange how the human mind works if you think about it." She tried to make her friend feel better. "You cant blame yourself for how your feeling. Just hold your head high, and tell yourself you wont miss him." She was trying to be cautious of what she said, so Bella wouldn't end up in tears.
"Yes, I suppose I wasn't joking." She laughed lightly. "But wait until your hungry, it'll put you in a wayyy good mood," She stressed the 'y' in 'way', "Or else, that would kinda suck on the poor humans side." She frowned fakely.

"Except one thing; I'm not human and neither are you," she pointed out. She appreciated her friend's attempts to cheer her up, but she couldn't help but feel the way she did. "I could tell myself that, but you know how much I hate liars."
She scoffed at the next comment her friend made; being admittedly far more jaded than Delilah, she had to disagree. "Poor creatures?" Shee shook her head. "It would put me in an infinitely good mood just to watch one of those 'poor' wretched creatures die."

"Human or not, we still have those human instincts and feelings. We try to deny it at times. But their there." She frowned. In many ways she wished she was human again. She'd be able to grow old, and have fat grand children. The wind picked up, blowing Delilahs red hair everywhere, "Hmph." She mumbled, and put her hair up in the pony tail around her wrist.
"Yeah, but you were once like them, you have to think back." She tilted her head to the side, "Back when you had your mother bitching at you every day, and going through grade school." She smiled, picking her head back up, "Or was there even grade school when you were young?" Delilah thought, then giggled softly, remembering the huge age differance between the two, even though they both looked around the same age.

"Well," she retorted with a scoff, "Same thoughts and feelings or not, I've no sympathy for them." That was the reason she'd begged Sy to bite her; so she could escape from her human form. She smiled and allowed the wind to whip around her white-blonde hair, embracing the cool chill on her deathly pale cheeks.
"I have absolutely no trouble thinking back and that only helps my position. I've never liked humans; not even when I was one." She shook her head, allowing herself a soft chuckle. "Grade school? What's a school? What's a grade?" She joked, looking over at Delilah with a grin.

"You cant even sat you dont miss being human atall." She let out a small sigh, and looked down at the city. So many people doing so many things. They could sit up there talking, and staring down at those humans, and they would have no clue. They dont expect the un expected. "Im not saying that being a vampire doesnt have its perks, because hell yeah, it does. Young forever, Do what you want, no athority." She smiled just saying it.
"But I'm afraid there are more downsides," She frowned once more, "You have to kill to live, Your heart doesn't beat, You miss out on all of the enjoyments of life, You always feel lonely in some way," She leaned on the railing, "And do I even have to continue?" She smiled, then nudged Bella, "Education is no joke!" She laughed, sounding like one of her old teachers.

Bella thought about that for a short moment before replying. "Not. At All. I can honestly say that being bitten is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me." She snarled as she watched a human couple walk down the street below, laughing. "It has more perks than being pressured to work yourself to death. Literally."
She laughed. "My naive friend, you cannot possibly try to convince my that being human could ever be better than being a vampire. And besides," she added quickly, "Humans are just as lonely as vampires, and they kill just as much as we do, if not more. The only difference is their killing is usually meaningless." She sighed, nudging her back with a smile. "Well now, that is definitely subjective."

This subject was the one and only thing they dissagreed on, even though Delilah felt as though she should agree. She just had a soft spot for humans. She could feel their pain, and every emotion. The majority of the time she wished she didn't feel for them. Thats mostly why she'd been pushing away that human boy.
"I guess I do like being a vampire. No more alcohol poisoning." She laughed again. "Plus, I feel like Im part of something thats for the greater good now. Even though they look at us like we're evil." She looked down at her shoes, then back up at Bella. "Though some look at us like we're god, and want to be turned." She smirked.
