Jaydn sat on the fire escape and leaned her head against the cool iron ladder. She had gotten tired of being stuck inside and had come out to get some of the night time air. She closed her eyes and breathed, relaxing against the metal she was leaning on. She wasn't what you would call claustraphobic, but every now and then she would feel too shut up by the walls. It really didn't help that she couldn't leave the hotel. She needed space sometimes and she couldn't get that inside the hotel.
She looked up at the sky and smiled. She had missed the stars. They used to be half the reason she stayed up so late. At home, she didn't do much of anything with her friends until afterdark. Half the fun of whatever they were doing was sneaking out. She wondered what they were doing right now and thought about calling them. No, that wouldn't work. She would just interrupt their after hour activities. She looked down the fire escape and grimaced. It was a great view but she didn't really care to be this high up. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness more and more, her smile grew a little bigger. She couldn't understand why anyone would be afraid of the dark. Without it you could never see the stars.

Blood tickled down the corner of his bottom lip. River had just now enjoyed himself with a meal after several days of nothing. It was quite lucky actually, that a stray cat was roaming around the fire escape. For a moment, River might have thought he would have to suck on some poor human inside, and if that happened, he doubted he would stop until the person was drained dry.
His foot steps echoed as he managed to find foot wear upon the iron steps. He didn’t venture too far down when he drained the cat, but far enough from the door to go back in the hotel. River heaved a sigh, a full belly was surely nice, but he was afraid of the onlookers that might see him enter with blood stained cheeks, they would freak out thinking he had just killed a friend of theirs.
Humans overacted slightly too much, and yet, River loved them like the night. Speaking of night, River surely didn’t exactly enjoy this one. It was too bright for some reason, with the stars and the full moon. Stars were alright, it was the moon that simply bugged him. What would he give for a new moon right now.
As River continued to walk up, his eyes caught something just...sitting there. His brows rose as he continued to stare.

Jaydn stopped staring into space as she heard someone behind her. Her head snapped in the direction of the noise and she saw him standing there. She also saw the blood. Her first stupid human survival instinct was to run, but all there was infront of her was a free fall. She relaxed as she realized that there was no point in freaking out. If he wanted her dead, she'd be dead in a few seconds. Brutal logic, but still true. If she was fixing to be a meal, she at least wanted to die acting normal and not spazing about something she had no control over.
She waved a hand and went back to leaning against the ladder. She knew that some of the vampires here didn't really like people and she didn't want to annoy him by talking to him if he was one of them. As she sat there the thought occured to her that he might be just a crazy human. He might be a homocidal crazy human. Strange as it was for her to think about it, she'd take a vampire over a serial killer as a way of death anyday. At least the vampires had a legitimate reason for killing.

Do to the fact that the person was facing the other direction, away from him, he couldn’t exactly tell who it was. As the person turned around River gained a slight description to what the being looked like. It was a girl for a fact, he could tell that just by looking at the back. River was an expert at telling what was what from the backside, since he found himself staring more on that side then the front.
The female had to be human as well, no pale hints or dark circles cast upon her skin. The corners of River’s lips curved upward as he licked the edge of his top one. Anyone who knew River wouldn’t be surprised to find that he was rather happy to find a human female in the mist of his presence. They’d be astonished if he wasn’t actually.
River liked girls, human girls at the most, do to the fact that they were more gullible with seduction. This one should be no different... he thought, blinking and already making up his mind to what was going to happen in the next few seconds.
Taking a few steps toward the female, he stopped, just right in back of her. Instead of sitting down, he took his comfort in standing up. “It’s a little late, don’t you think?” he asked casually, his voice soft and distant.

She looked back up at him and shrugged. "I guess so. Haven't really been paying much attention to the time," she said. Jaydn wondered what he was doing. Was this normal or was she safe ? She was more than a little worried by what she thought of as the worst case scenario. She looked straight ahead again and stared up at the sky. She hadn't gotten much of a look at him, but she couldn't help but think he was hot. One of those things about her, here she was with a vampire and she still took the time to appreciate his looks. So she was shallow after all. She turned a little where she sat so she could look up at him without craning her neck. "What about you ? What brings you up here ?"

River stood, trying his best not to stare at the girl’s neck. It was rather teasing him, even if he just now ate something. Tugging on his bottom lip as he looked down at the girl when she responded. But rather concentrating on what she was saying, he found comfort in staring at the raised neck. Taking control, he looked away again. Calm down...you already had your fill..
But was it enough? He found human blood much more appealing then silly animals. He couldn’t though. What sort of example would he be making to the rest? Hen she asked him what was he doing down here, he found himself looking at her again, this time, more of her as she turned. “Isn’t it obvious?” he asked, grinning.
“Look, I suggest you go back inside, you never know what could happen.” his voice was mellow, slightly hinting on what could happen in the next few moments.

Jaydn didn't need to be told twice. She picked her self up and started to walk by him when her jacket got caught on the rail. Why the hell had she worn that anyway ? It was hot out there but the jacket was more of a comfort thing. She had had it forever and was sort of attached to it. But not enough to stay outside with a vampire for it's sake. She got a grip on it and started trying to rip it off the metal it had caught on. She was feeling a little desperate and just wanted to be safe back in her room.
She started to panic more as it still wouldn't come loose and she couldn't tear it. For once she regretted buying the durable black jacket, the stupid thing could probably take a flame-thrower and survive. Jaydn yanked on the fabric again and groaned when it remained in its postition. She stole a glance at the guy and hoped that her neck wasn't too visible as she bent down to see what the jacket had fastened on.
