When Isabella had first arrived at the hotel in 1910, the ballrooms had been home to lavish parties and dances, and it was the place all the vampires liked to go to kill time. Now, however, although they still kept their physical beauty, the ballrooms had been abandoned. Bella walked through her favorite one, sighing as she remembered the dances she used to watch. She sat down on one of the tables and rested her chin on her hands as she thought, not noticing that she was not alone; someone else had walked in as well and was approaching her. She pulled out the book she had been reading and continued for as long as she could before she was interrupted.

What a beautiful place, Sara thought. She had entered the hotel and found it, much to her surprise, a charming place that would defiantly satisfy her tastes. She was very excited about her trip here to Rosen Centre Hotel. It was the biggest school trip she had ever had the pleasure of taking. Finally Bayshore had given her an opportunity to show off her skills in dance.
After checking in with the chaperons and other adult figures, the blonde found herself inclined to wander. She still hadn't bothered to drop her things off just yet. Instead, they occupied her shoulder as she walked the long hallways. The amazing courtyards, the lovely spa, even a relaxing lounge, a sweet coffee stand, and could it be? A Ballroom? No way!
Sara stopped short, staring at the large doors that lead into the room for dance. Could this day get any better? This was perfect! The perfect, quiet place to practice her routines. She quickly pushed her way through the doors. Looking around, the Ballroom had lived passed what she had expected to see.
Sure, she had seen nice small 'ballrooms' modeled after old English rooms and such, she danced in them frequently, but this was the real deal! Dropping her bag besides her, the Sophomore took time to take in each detail that surrounded the room and the wonderful atmosphere. Then, her eyes spied something out of place.
Someone, a girl looking not much older than she, sat at one of the many tables around the edges of the room. She was surprised, not expecting to find anyone else here. Pushing those thoughts away, she decided to approach. She walked at a leisurely pace until she came stop in front of the table. She saw the person had now taken out a book. She wasn't sure if she wanted to interrupt now, but continued anyways. "Hello there," She greeted with excitement in her voice.

Bella had to use every ounce of restraint she had not to hiss at the human girl who had interrupted her reading. She hadn't eaten all day, and once she observed the lack of fangs, it was all she could do not to bite right then and there, but she knew Gerard would most likely have her verbally lynched afterwards, and that was not something she looked forward to. Instead, she smiled a plastic smile at the girl, careful not to show her fangs. "Hi," she responded, and then promptly went back to her book.

Hn, someone doesn't seem like the most friendly, Sara thought again as the girl turned away from her, back down to the book. Folding her arms across her stomach, each one of her hands held the opposite elbow. She peer down at the sitting girl and inwardly shrugged, deciding to sit down. She took the chair across from the unknown person who seemed very absorbed into her book. She sat there silently for a few moments before continuing.
"I'm Sara," she said pleasantly. She didn't look at the girl, but rather the tried to read the cover of the book. What could be so interesting anyway? While finding herself unsuccessful, leaned back in her chair casually. Her fingers twirled around the fabric hem of her black, purple, and grey plaid skirt that went along with her white button up blouse and guitar tie. The two two buttons were undone in in a flirtatious manner, in case she was to encounter any guys today. "Are you here for the National Educational Olympics?"

Bella felt the girl's stare burning into her, telling her that she hadn't gotten the hint and left. She sighed inwardly and put down her book, wondering how she would be able to speak without her fangs showing. She heard her introduce herself as Sara, and gave her another smile as she replied. "Bella."
She saw her attempting to read the book's cover and shook her head, grinning to herself. "It's Heart of Darkness," she told her. "I've been trying to find time to finish it all week." Sara asked her about the 'Educational Olympics,' something she thought she'd heard Gerard mention and she knew the hotel was rented out for, although she wasn't completely sure exactly what it was. "Hmm, I guess you could say that," she responded.

Surprised a bit by the girl actually replying, a smile crept across her face. She thought the girl would tell her to buzz off or whatever, seeing as how she didn't really seem to want company. But Sara was very social and was always willing to make new friends. Bella was the name of the girl. It was probably the nickname for Isabell or Isabella; something like that. She had always liked that name, dunno why. She just did. "Nice to meet you Bella," she replied.
"Oh," She had never heard of the book. Apparently, she had been very obvious in her strain to read the title. "Sorry if I'm interrupting." She gave an quick apologetic look before a curious one took over her face. "What's it about?" It was very far and few in between that she was able to find a book that held her interest longer than the first 3 pages.
Leaning her elbows onto the table now, Sara wasn't totally sure about the response she got. Though the girl was pretty and could probably pass as a cheerleader or dancer, she didn't seem very excited about the composition as she herself felt. "If I'm not prying too much, what kind of sport are you competing in?"

Bella found it hard to believe that she was actually having a conversation with a human, let alone a civil conversation. This particular one seemed nice enough, but overall Bella paid no respect to their kind, which meant she could pay no respect to her. "Nice to meet you too," she lied, simply because she sensed that the time was not right to divulge her race quite yet.
She smirked at the girl's surprise. She had been interrupting, but Bella was finding amusement in the conversation. "It's about a ferry-boat captain who discovers madness in a village he goes to for business, although it's better than it sounds." She knew the way she'd described it did not give it very much appeal.
She smirked arrogantly. Clearly her attempt to hide her fangs had worked to some extent, for the girl seemed to be fooled into thinking she was human! This was far too entertaining a conversation for Isabella to pass up, so she decided to humor Sara, if only for a little while. "I'm not entirely sure I'd call it a sport..." she trailed off, grinning inwardly. This situation was getting dangerous and she knew it, yet she couldn't help but lead the conversation forward.

Oblivious. That's what Sara was. To this point, she had no doubt that this person could be anything other than human. Besides the fact that no one had even brought up the subject of different creatures, she simply didn't believe in them. When her little sister was younger, she believed there was a monster in her closet. Sara stated that the were no such thing and that she shouldn't worry about stupid things like that. That she should worry about making good friends once school started. Sara still believed this. Smiling still, she went on with the conversation.
She wasn't going to lie-she hated lies and people who told them-the book sounded beyond boring. "Oh, well," she paused. "That sounds...different. Not totally my kind of book though." She thought for a moment. What was her kind of book? It didn't really matter, seeing as how she was a more physical kind of girl and would die if she had to sit down in one place for too long. Let alone sit there and be forced to read a boring book. She shrugged when Bella said it was better than it sounded. "I'll take your word for it."
"Not a sport?" The confusion was clear in her voice. If she was here for the National Educational Olympics, then how could it not be called a sport. Though, not everyone considered dance a sport-which clearly, it was. "Then do you dance? Like me?" Had she found a fellow music performer so fast? Not that she minded, she would be more than happy if Bella was. But then the thought hit her. It's not all sports that are competing. "Oh wait, you must be here for academics then."

She chuckled; this girl may be a good dancer, but she certainly was no actress. "Ahh, yes. The classic 'different'. Don't worry, I won't make you read it." She sighed. Most of the people she tried to talk about books with gave the same response; she had yet to meet someone who appreciated the same kind of things she did. "You do that," she responded, sinking back into her original mood.
She no longer had a desire to carry on the conversation; she preferred reading her book in peace, but at this point she had no choice. The academics? Bella shrugged apathetically. "I must be," she responded, looking up at Sara.

Sara shrugged to Bella's response. "Well, yeah. I'm not a huge fan of books and reading anyway. I don't have much time to sit down and read." She said. Yet here I am, She thought. Sitting there and doing nothing; well obviously she was doing something-talking to the girl-but not doing something that she would normally do. If she sat down to talk to friends, it was usually just for a moment or two before they went to go find something to do.
Smiling again, she nodded. If the girl wasn't here for a sport, then what else could it be. She dropped the subject, seeing no further need to pry. Though she did find herself out of topics to talk about. That was a sure sign of no good in itself. She thought for a moment, drumming her fingers on the table before asking, "So is your school local around here then? Or did you come from across the country or something?"

She nodded in understanding. "I see." She wasn't quite sure, then, why this girl was wasting both of their time sitting and speaking to her when she so clearly had so much more to be doing. However, she didn't bring up the topic; she felt it was unnecessary.
At this point she felt no further desire to speak of schools or sports; it was, in all honesty, depressing her. Sara asked her about where her school was from, and she shrugged in response. "Local," she answered, because it wasn't entirely a lie. "And you?"

Maybe I should go find my room or something, She thought, her mind wandering elsewhere for a few moments. Or I could go try and find some guys, That perked her up a bit. She could go wander, flirt, make new friends, show off her stuff. Or maybe even just practice. Bleh, actually, who wants to practice now? I have so many options to chose from, depending on whats around. If I do- What was she doing here again? Or right. Talking with this girl. Its not nice to be rude, she scolded herself mentally. This girl seemed nice enough. No need to blow her off totally...just a few more minutes...
Sara nodded at her answer. She wondered what other Florida schools were participating besides Bayshore. "Local in the sense of state. I go to Bayshore Academy." She answered with a grin. She loved her school and her social status in it. The learning wasn't....so....bad.
