A broad smile randomly creased her face, black headphone cord dripped from her ears, stark against her light colored shirt. It was white, with Dr. Seuss' One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish written all over it with Dr. Seuss fish everywhere. She loved that shirt, she thought it was amazing. Her DCs scuffed the floor slightly loudly. She was horrible when it came to walking. She dragged her feet, often tripping herself and stumbling as her toe was caught on the floor. Unless she was roll stepping, which she did when walking next to someone.
The music in her ears made her smile, and want to just start belting out the lyrics. She was singing softly to herself, following the lyrics. It was Pirelli's Miracle Elixir, from the Sweeney Todd soundtrack with Johnny Depp. It was one of her favorite songs, along with Epiphany and A Little Priest. Only people close to her would be able to hear her soft voice. She sang pretty well, but she definitely didn't think so. A book was clutched in her hand. It had been too quiet in her room, after all, she didn't have a roommate, and she spent as little time as possible alone in there, kind of afraid of being alone for too long. Finding a chair, she plopped herself down into it, cracking open her book and flipping to the page she left off on, slipping easily into the stupor that blocked everything out besides the words in front of her eyes.

Jydn had been doing smething stupid. She had been seeing how far she could slide in the hallways using her socks. It was pointless and just something to fill up the day with. There wasn't alot to do here after you got past the sleeping as late as you want. Everything had bee ngoing well until she slid into a teacher who was walking through the hall. Jaydn had jumped up and heloed the woman get her stuff together while ignoring the throbbing in her knee. That was when she saw the look. The brace-yourself,-I'm-getting-ready-to-punish-you-look. So she did the only thing she could think of doing. She bolted towars the door without looking back. She wasn't really sure what a teacher could do to her here, but she didn't want to find out.
So that was how she found herself limping through the lobby, muttering to herself about how stupid that had been. She saw the girl sitting and reading while listening to music in one of the chairs. God, those chairs looked good right now. She looked at a vacant seat and then at the long way to hobble that was between her and her room. Sighing she moved over to the empty chair next to the girl. She looked around for a minute, tapping her finger idly on her good knee, trying to think of something to do. Hoping that the girl wasn't that into her book, she decieded to socialize.
"Hey," she said, waving brightly. If the noise didn't get hr attention, maybe the movement would.

Kriss was so absorbed by her book that she jumped when she heard a voice outside the music in her ears and caught movement from the corner of her eye. Her head snapped up and her dark brown eyes locked on a girl sitting next to her. Kriss hadn't met practically anyone else in the hotel, besides Corbly. And it would be good to have a girl friend. Hanging out with guys all the time really sucked sometimes. Kriss pulled out her headphones and paused her iPod. She shut the book on her finger, holding her place. She smiled at the girl and answered, Hi. I'm Kriss. Her dark eyes were friendly and warm. She was shy, yes, but she wanted to socialize. She had been too quiet, and it was getting on her nerves.
She was quiet for a few moments, glancing around the lobby. Then she looked back to the other girl and watched her for a moment before speaking again. So, where are you from? Simple and easy conversation starter, no way you can really go wrong with that. She waited, relaxed in her chair, for the girl's reaction.

"Jaydn," she smiled. She adjusted herself in the seat until she was as comfortable as her knee would allow She looked around the room and noticed the lack of activity. This place really was dead. "Rose City, Virginia. And yourself ?" she asked. She was glad Kriss had asked the question, she tended to be a little weird when getting to know people. She was out-going and they usually thought it was funny, but she still would prefer her friends not to be afraid of her.

Kriss smiled. Bayshore, Florida. Sunny FL. She flashed a bright grin, her eyes shining as she thought of the palm trees and balmy sun. But might as well enjoy being here while she was. I haven't met many people, I'm afraid to say. she stated with a sheepish smile. So, what's it like in Virginia? I haven't been to very many places. Her eyes held interest as she leaned forward a bit to ease the pressure of sitting on her legs. She had only been to the Northeast and other parts of Florida, not including being here. She was a little quieter, but still was ready for any kind of fun. And Jadyn seemed to just overflow with fun ready to burst forth, making Kriss smile.

She smiled back and thought of how to descibe her town. "Boring, breezy, and cold," she said with laugh as she rattled off the ones that best fit Rose City. "But it's not the worse place to live. It's got a ton of fresh air," she said, trailing off a little. That was one of the main things she missed and she hated the sick stuff they called air here. She never thought she'd be longing to be back in her old city but being away made her realize its charms. She stopped her musing and looked at the girl sitting near her.
Kriss seemed to be the quieter sort who had really just wanted to let her wilder side out. That would be fun at a party. As long as she did't get suicidal when she was drunk everything would be fine with Jaydn.
