She saw him get a little frazzled when he talked about why he was here, and decieded to just drop it. She had a feeling he was lying, but she didn't really care. He wasn't here for school, so what ? It really didn't seem like a big deal, and she didn't feel like making him angry by trying to get him to talk about it, so she went back to California talk. "Yeah, it's great there. Except the earthquakes, that just sucked. Those are definatly one of the things I don't miss," she said. She had lived near the coast and had always been scared of the earthquakes. Even though they had the technology to predict when they were coming she was constantly waiting for one. Whenever one was coming she had all of her stuff packed up and ready to go. It scared her parents to see her act that way, they didn't think a ten year old should act so paranoid. Eventually they decieded that she'd grow out of it and just let her do her earthquake precations routine. "So what about Wisconsin ? Are there like dairy farms all over the place ?" she laughed. The first things that came to her mind when she thought about Wisconsin were That 70's Show and cows.

He kept his head down a bit as he listened to the words that came from her mouth about earthquakes and such. He was glad that she didn't push the subject and still he inwardly cursed at himself for allowing such a simple question to crawl so deeply underneath his skin. One of his flaws, jumping to conclusions. Probably one of the worst he had. He was so ready to feel cornered that it wasn't even funny. Maybe it was the fact that he had always felt safe until the day his father had become angry with him. He'd always had a really close, safe relationship with that man, and then all of a sudden everything turned upside down the one time he found Trevor with a boyfriend. What was the harm in that? It's not like he had a different guy over nightly, no. He'd kept that life out of the house just for the sake of his father, but the one time he woke up from being passed out he tried beating Trevor to a pulp. Bastard .
"Well, yeah there are in some places, but there is more urban places as well." he said with a laugh as she made it sound like it was all rural areas. Yeah, a lot of the state was very rural and there were a lot of farms, but it's not all like that. There are cities and obvious signs of life as well. "I lived in South Bend and it wasn't really a huge place, but it was nice, being one of the few places I have ever been able to live. It's a lot different then this hotel too, very different." he said, looking about him. He'd lived there the majority of his life, and he'd never be able to go back. That kinda sucked a bit, knowing that he had friends back home and that he hadn't even said goodbye to them... but he just couldn't risk the consequences of going back. They would be far too great and he didn't want to pay for what he'd done.

"So where all have you lived ?" she asked. She had only moved twice, from her first home in California to the foster home in upper California and then to her aunt's in Rose City. She hated moving. Moving meant having to get her new room or couch as had once been the case the way she wanted it and trying to find people who could stand her ramdom bursts of bizarreness. Neither one of those things were very easy and they usually took a while. It took her a while to get used to waking up in a different place and it was just hard to find friends who were as crazy as her that weren't scary. She had adjusted to this though and had basically gotten used to hanging out with people who did normal things.

"Well, I was born in Italy, and I lived in a lot of different cities there, but when I first moved to America, I lived in Kansas, Ohio and then settled in Hawaii for a short period, then went to Wisconsin and have been there ever since." he said with a shrug. He hadn't like moving all that much, it was more of a hassle then it was actually worth anything. He moved from all these places within years of living there. He didn't really live in many places longer then a year. He lived in Italy for four, but then every other places he's lived it has been a year or less. Hawaii he lived in the shortest amount of time because he'd only been visiting family there. So far, Wisconsin holds the record for being his home the longest, but also holds the worst memories he could possibly imagine...
"I think though, out of all the places I have lived, I like Italy the best. I get to go there every summer because I have family there, but I didn't really know much about it when I first moved away." he said thoughtfully, thinking of the wonderful place. He wished he could return and live there permanently, but it was so far away and he was starting to make friends here now too. He had pen pals all over the place, but he had friends that he was getting used to having. Sure, this hotel was a little weird, but he could get used to weird. It's not like he's the most normal person out there... He was definitely not the most normal, probably one of the least normal. Truth be told, Trevor liked being an abnormal person. He didn't know exactly what was considered to be the norm or what people tried to base their lives on, but he'd much rather be himself and be something that no one else can be. He didn't think being someone else was worth your while because no matter how much you tried you'd always be yourself deep down inside.

"Just California and Virginia for me," she said. As much as the moving sucked, it would be pretty cool to see all those places. Especially Hawaii. That was the spring break spot for her school last year and eveyone had gone. She'd loved eveything about it and would go through moving again if it meant she could stay there. "Hawaii rocks, I went there for a few days last year. So you're Italian ?" she asked, looking at his skin. He was a little pale for that wasn't he ?

"Ahh cool. I have never been to either place, but they both sound like great places to go sometime in the future, aside from the whole earthquake thing in California." the male spoke with a soft laugh. That would be really devastating to live in an area where an earthquake has hit, or is predicted to hit. It's horrible when you have to just pick up and leave. He knew the feeling, only he didn't pick up much, just left. He didn't have the option to stay a few extra days and get some things gathered before he went on his way. He had to leave for the sake of his future. "Ahh, I only lived there for a few months. It was pretty nice, because I like the warm weather. I'd definitely go back again some time. -- Doesn't look like it, does it?" he asked with a smile as her eyes gave a general glance at his skin. "My father's extended family is Italian, and he met my mother when he went to Italy with the air force. So technically speaking, I'm like, half Italian, and a mix of whatever my father's side of the family is." he said with a shrug. He'd always been pale, and no he wasn't of the undead, he was just naturally pale. He continued to tread the water a bit, and then finally just moved so he was standing in an area that was just a bit shallower so his feet could touch the bottom. He looked over at her for a moment before letting his body lean back into the water a bit, and he floated on the surface. He rested his hands on his stomach and still looked over at her.

"And I'm..." she paused as she thought of how to correctly say it all. "I'm one fourth Spanish and one fourth French on my mom's side and then on my dad's I'm some fraction German and a little English I think. I wouldn't know any of this if it wasn't for this really stupid heritage report I had to do in the second grade. My parents got really excited over my first school project and sort of took it over," she explained. She had been so mad that they were doing all the work that she didn't talk to them for a good couple of hours and just stayed in her room. But they were so busy going through the family trees that they didn't really notice. She finally thought she had punished them enough and had went back into the living room to help again.
Jaydn smiled as she thought about it and looked down at her arm again. She was finally starting to tan. "Oh yeah !" she burst out.

"Haha wow. That's complicated. My parents were always too busy fighting to ever really care about anything school related, or related to me. It was pretty good though when they got their divorce. I hung out a lot with my dad..." his words hanging kind of dead in the silence that followed. He didn't mean to make them hang like that, but the words slipped from his mouth easier then expected. He didn't know what it was, but he was just in a very openly talkative mood today and he was just going on and on and on, but whenever it came to his father. He just got oddly quiet. His tones suggested that something horrible happened to the man and that in all reality was not a lie. However, the dead hanging of his words were cut off by the happy exclamation that left her vocals.
"Don't get too excited, someone might get hurt." he said with a soft laugh as he still floated on his back in the water. He was pale compared to most of the people that surrounded the pool area. That didn't surprise him, but he did look a little weird. All this time that he spent outside, and considering his heritage, he couldn't get a decant tan to save his life and he was a little freaked out by the tanning salons. It's one of those little things that when brought up, you just don't ask about it and leave that topic... He didn't really have a logical explanation of why he didn't like them. He just didn't like them and wouldn't go to one even if it was the only way to save his life. He was perfectly fine being pale, because he knew there were worse people out there.

"At least I kept my seat this time. Last time I tanned there was an accident with the fireworks display. In my defense, the warning label on the firecrakers was really small and everyone's eyebrows grew back eventually," she said. She noticed the way he got when he talked about his dad and was trying to avoid the subject. She didn't really feel like going into much detail about her parents either. She hated the pity looks that most people gave when they found out. It could have happened to anyone, it wasn't like they purposely abandoned her.

"Wow. I'm not sure I even want to ask about that one..." he said, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. He loved fireworks, but tended to be really stupid when around them, He had some great stories about him with roman candles on the fourth of July. Keep in mind that he was of course under the influence of alcohol and he wasn't actually that stupid unless he was... "Fireworks are dangerous, and thinking about them makes me think of how stupid I've been. Don't know if you have ever even thought about having a fight with roman candles, but one year I did. It turned out pretty bad, and one of my friends had gone to the hospital. I can't even cover up how stupid it was by saying I'd been drinking, because one of my friends was sober and he still took part..." he shook his head at his own stupidity.
As much as she tried to avoid it, sometimes his conversations always seemed to lead back to one thing. He hoped that wasn't one of those times because he really, really didn't want anyone to know what had happened. It's horrible that he'd done such a thing, and in the same breath he'd have to explain what made his father so mad. No, he was afraid of whom he was and he'd openly admit that he was bi sexual, but some people found that kind of disgusting and he didn't want to make anyone come against him just by his sexual orientation. That wasn't fair. He didn't under stand how people could judge someone just by what their preference was because he'd had friends that thought he was the coolest guy ever until they figured out he had been with men too... and then there were those freaks that didn't like him up until they figured out he was bi... That was even worse.

"Are you serious ?" she asked sitting up. "I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that when I'm drunk.... or buzzed. It usually has something to do with explosives or fire. Last summer I was at a party with some friends of mine and someone brought a keg. The next thing I know we're all playing war and lighting firecrackers and throwing them at each other. They say it was my idea, but I wasn't the one who decieded the forts should be made of hay," she laughed thinking about how they had panicked when it caught on fire. "Long story short, the fire department said it could have been alot worse and my friend wasn't allowed to invite people to the farm again." The story wasn't the worst she had done, but it was one of the funnier ones. The rest had worse consequences and less joking about them later. "Was that the worst story involving fire and/ or fireworks you've got ? Cause I can go on all day." she said leaning back against the chair again.

He laughed as she came back with that comment, and then he turned himself back to his feet and listened to her story. "Oh my god, haha, that's insane. Shit like that happens to me all the time. I swear, it's like when I'm around fireworks, I just need to be handcuffed and taken away before I even buy any. I always get myself into some crazy stuff like that. Every year I have a huge party up at my grandpa's old house. My and a whole bunch of other people chip in and we get a ton of different stuff. You know from like sparklers to mortars and roman candles. We don't usually get the really big stuff because it's not near as fun..." he said with a laugh.
"I think it was the year before last, we had a big cook out as always, but there were less people there. More of my friends then anyone else's and one of the guy's fell asleep, I don't know how he did... but we tied the big strings of firecrackers to his feet, and god damn it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. He's probably one of the biggest guys you've ever seen, but man can he run when those things are going off! I've never seen him move so fast in my life." Trevor shook his head slightly, a grin stretched across his face as he recalled that night. He had lots of stories about fire, but usually they involved someone going to the hospital. Hell, one of his friends held an m80 in his hand and just let it go off. He lost a finger that night!

She laughed at that one. "If you fall asleep anywhere near where one of our parties is happening you're setting yourself up for whatever happens to you. One time this girl had fallen asleep by the pool and we had all gotten really bored. Pretty soon the girl was covered in peanut butter and we were letting the neighbor's huge Newfoundland out of its fence. So Maria freaked out when the dog jumped on her and tried to get away. She ran into the pool and took the dog and the pool chair with her. The dog was totally fine and she didn't get hurt either. She was just swimming in place trying to catch her breath and the dog was treading water right by her head still trying to lick the peanut butter out of her hair. Some guys jumped in and got her and the dog out but the pool still had the lawn chair in it and there was peanut butter everywhere. We never got to go to that house again either," she said. If he knew the girl this had happened to he would get it. She was always trying to pull pranks on everyone but she sucked at it and they were always really stupid little things. After a whole year of that everyone wanted revenge and there just happened to be stuff to get it with lying around.

He laughed as he listened to the story. What a horrible fate to falling asleep that night. "I don't quite know what it feels like to be in that girls shoes, but one night, a bunch of friends and I were out camping for my birthday, cause my wish was to get away from everything for a while. We were in this awesome nature reserve place, there was a bunch of white water areas, tons of cool climbing places and a bunch of other stuff, but we set up camp in this clearing. Some people went out to get firewood, others hung around and explored. I was dumb enough to fall asleep while everyone wandered."
"I woke up a few hours later; the camp was gone, except for the chair I was sitting in. My clothes were gone except my boxers, and I was covered in honey. There was a sign that said follow the trail, and there was a trail of my things laying all over the ground. It was dark, but light enough for me to still see and I followed it. It didn't last too long when I came to a cave and at first I went around it, but then a huge bear came out and started chasing me. At first all I saw was its head, but then when I turned to look at it, all over my friends were underneath this huge bear skin, laughing their asses and taking pictures with their cell phones. Then I got happy birthday cards the next day, my horrified face plastered all over them…" he was surprised he got through that story without busting out laughing too early. That was probably one of the worst days of his life, because from that day on, no one has ever forgotten about it. Everyone from that day still has three or four pictures of his face when he saw the 'bear'.

"On your birthday ?" she asked once she had stopped cracking up. "One time my school took a camping trip to this mountain and my and one of my friends got assigned a tent with one of the bitchiest girls in the school. And she hated me. We had been messing with each other since I moved there, I think she felt threatened by me or something, I don't know. But anyway, you ever see the newer version of the Parent Trap ? Well, the girl is snoring and my friend and I are just lying there wondering what to do about her. We both thought of it at the same time and when she woke up she and her air mattress were floating on the lake. The best part was, everyone blamed her annoying friends because they had had a fight the night before. That was one of the best ones I have ever done." she said. They had pulled it off just like in the movie only a little better because the girl woke up on the other side of the lake far away from the camp.
